Demetrius Does Grandma's

One day, Mommy said to Demetrius, "You've been a good boy. Would you like to spend the night at Grandma and PawPaw's house?" Demetrius said, "Yes! I love to go to Grandma and PawPaw's house." Demetrius got his favorite backpack out so Mommy could pack it. He got his pajamas, robe and slippers from his bedroom for Mommy. She said, "Demetrius, you will need your toothbrush, too." So Demetrius got his toothbrush from the bathroom. Mommy put it in his backpack and added some clothes for the next day. She told Demetrius to get his favorite blanket and his favorite stuffed animal to take also. Then they loaded up the car and drove to Grandma and PawPaw's house. It wasn't far and Demetrius was very excited. He jumped out of the car and ran up to the door. He rang the doorbell many times until PawPaw finally opened it. Grandma and PawPaw were happy to see Demetrius and hugged him. PawPaw took his backpack and said bye to Mommy. "We will see you tomorrow!" they said and Demetrius gave Mommy a big hug and kiss.
Demetrius told PawPaw he was hungry so PawPaw opened the fridge to see what they had to eat. Grandma said, "Let's have hot dogs and corn chips? And you can help me bake chocolate chip cookies for dessert." Demetrius thought that was a good idea. So Grandma got out some cookie sheets. She let Demetrius spoon some cookie dough out of a big container she had. She let him help her put them in the oven. They set the timer and then fixed hot dogs in the microwave oven. When the timer went off, Grandma got the hot cookies from the oven. By the time they were cool enough to eat, they had eaten their hot dogs and chips and were ready for dessert. The cookies were really good and they ate almost all of them while drinking big glasses cold milk.
Then Grandma said, "Do you want to take a bath?" Demetrius said, "Yes, please. Can I have lots of bubbles and play with my toys in the bathtub?" Grandma said, "Sure. You get your toys and I will start the water." Demetrius took off his clothes and got in the tub with all his toys - boats, little toy men, small cars and little dinosaurs. Grandma sat on the side of the tub and played too. Demetrius played until the water got cold and Grandma said it was time to get out. She dried Demetrius with a big beach towel and PawPaw put his pajamas on him. Demetrius put his own robe and slippers on. PawPaw said, "Would you like some popcorn and a story before you go to bed?" Demetrius said, "Yes please." PawPaw made some popcorn while Demetrius looked in the bookcase for a book to read. He chose one about a monkey and ate a bowl of popcorn while PawPaw read it to him. When he was done, PawPaw said, "Now it's time to brush your teeth and go to bed." So Demetrius brushed his teeth while PawPaw made up his bed. He got Demetrius's special pillow, blanket and stuffed animal. Demetrius laid down and went fast asleep.
When he woke up the next morning he saw that Grandma and PawPaw were already awake. They said, "How would you like to go out to eat breakfast?" Demetrius thought that was a good idea. So he hurried to dress himself. Grandma and PawPaw put him in his carseat and drove him to the restaurant. Demetrius ordered pancakes and chocolate milk, his favorite breakfast. He ate every bite. The waitress told him what a good boy he was and she gave him a special lollipop as a treat.
Demetrius wanted to go home then so Grandma and PawPaw took him back to his home. Mommy and Daddy were waiting on him. They were very glad to see him. He hugged Grandma and PawPaw. They told him he could come back and stay with them anytime. Demetrius said he would like that.
